how to delete shortcut arrow

Posted on June 7, 2009 by voidzzz

If you hate the shortcut arrow that appears on the bottom left of icons, you can delete and get rid of them by doing very simple step below :

Before you’re doing the following step to delete shortcut arrow, make sure your user have administrator right since you’ll need it to edit the registry.

  1. Start > Run > type regedit and press enter
  2. Go to / Expand the branch on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\lnkfile
  3. Edit the value on the right pane from IsShortcut to IsShortcutxxx (or whatever you like)
  4. Close the registry window

You’re basically done, if after refreshing your desktop the arrow still appears, try to restart your computer.
